BIOGRAPHY |
Aude du Pasquier Grall (b. 1974) was born in Paris, France, where she lives and works today.
She earned a "diplôme national supérieur d'arts plastiques" from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, in 1996.

Her work has been included in solo exhibitions at Artspace Rashinban (Toyko - Japan), Galerie Rouge 44 (Paris - France), Les Chantiers Boîte Noire (Montpellier - France), Nuit Blanche, Cinéma
l'Entrepôt (Paris - France), Galerie Arkos (Clermont- Ferrand - France), Miss China Beauty (Paris - France) and Galerie Quang (Paris - France).
Her work has also been included in group exhibitions at Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de la Ville de Saint-Denis (Saint-Denis - France), Le Nouveau Casino (Paris - France), Palais de Tokyo (Paris - France),

She had been developing the series "The Male Cycle" since 1998. The project explores the concept of how female artists portray their male models.

Each "Cycle Masculin" is like a poetic and erotic trap where the female artist and her male model meet. A confrontation which happens
into the world of art, where desire and anxiety get involved, where the powers alternate. The human male is not a professional. Naked, photographed and filmed, how does
he react ? He refuses to obey. He looks at this woman who observes him, who desires to transform him into a piece of art ...

It has been a pleasure for low distortion unit to contribute to Aude Du Pasquier Grall's work by offering her sound creations which give an additional
impact to the movie. In cycle six, I had to use the raw sound source without really modifying it. I had to emphasize particular points avoiding repetition with the image. It
is not the first time I work with the image, but Aude left me entirely free. The industrial side of low distortion unit corresponds well to the "Male Cycle", even if
at first sight one does not see it in this kind of project. It is there and it is indisociable of the work of art.
